Flying Trapeze by Jacqueline Slavney

Jacqueline Slavney was born in England and moved to the United States at the age of 24. She learned the basics of photography as an undergraduate at the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore where she studied with Beverly Wilgus.

Since then she has worked independently — originally in the darkroom and has now transitioned to digital photographic composition. She does her own printing using only the highest quality inks and finest papers.

Ms. Slavney’s work includes many subjects, but she is best known for her flower portraits. Her photographs have been shown in a number of galleries in the Baltimore area including the Gomez Gallery, Galerie Francoise et ses Freres, Gallery G, the Barn Gallery at Ladew Gardens, and at the Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis. Her photographs are in many private collections in the US and the UK.
