Kirstin L. Bruner
Kirstin L. Bruner was raised in Florida and then departed at an early age to begin her education in New England. She studied in Connecticut, at Choate Rosemary Hall. She then continued on to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where she majored in Humanistic Area Studies, including a minor in Psychology with an emphasis in art and play therapy. She then moved to the Washington, DC area to complete her J.D. at The Washington College of Law at American University with a concentration in Intellectual Property.
Her work is now as a Freelance writer and Professor of Communications, Humanities, and Legal Studies. The rest of her time is spent developing her art. She focuses on an exploration of language, bringing words to life on canvas through geometric abstract painting, in essence defining words through art. Her work explores this relationship through the balance of vibrant color and symmetry to evoke emotion through repetition of lines and patterns. She is reacting to the chaos of the modern world through the creation of order and symmetry. Her art brings to mind the style of the geometric abstractionists of earlier decades.
